Damita White-Morris is a native of Bridgeton, New Jersey. After graduating from Bridgeton High School, she attended Delaware State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Criminal Justice. In 2013, Damita graduated from Wilmington University with a Master of Science degree in Administration of Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security.
Determined to combat the misconceptions that youth from cities like Bridgeton do not do anything positive and are not productive members of their communities, Damita returned
to her hometown dedicating herself to empowering young people in the community. Her goal was to provide the necessary tools and resources to educate and motivate people and encourage them to make better life choices. She built relationships with key community leaders by calling on her life experiences growing up in Bridgeton. Through new and established relationships, Damita was able to help steer Bridgeton’s next generation of leaders toward a brighter future.
For fifteen years, Damita dedicated her work to supporting families and students within Bridgeton Public schools. She has served in various leadership roles with the Bridgeton School Employee Association, Cumberland County Council of Education Association, New Jersey Education Association, and the National Education Association.
She is currently an Early Childhood Director. She believes that our children and our seniors are most vulnerable within our communities. Damita is a wife and the mother of a five beautiful daughters, whom she grooms to strive above the norm. As well as a caregiver to her senior citizens’ parents. Damita is an extremely active member in numerous professional and community organizations/committees including: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Order of the
Eastern Stars, PHA, Juvenile Conference Committee, Municipal Chair for the City of Bridgeton Democratic Committee, and Acting President of NJ Federation of Democratic Women Cumberland County.
