STATEMENT FROM CMC CHAIR MARIE BLISTAN ON LABOR DAY
Cape May Court House, NJ 09/01/2023

Cape May County Chair Marie Blistan on Labor Day, asks Cape May County Commission to keep Crest Haven Nursing Home open.
"All that harms labor is treason to America."
~ Abraham Lincoln
"The Labor Movement was the principal force that transformed misery and despair into hope and progress."
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
On behalf of the Democratic Party, we wish everyone a happy, healthy, and joyous Labor Day weekend. The Cape May County Democratic Party respects and thanks our laborers and unions,
especially the union employees and those who support all of the services of the facility at Crest Haven Nursing Home!
As we celebrate this Labor Day weekend, let us also ask our CMC Commissioners to revisit the decision to close the one county-run nursing home that has been a peaceful respite for Cape May
County residents who are in most need. Our employees here at Crest Haven have dedicated their careers to making sure that the people in the facility and their families are cared for with dignity
and expertise.
We expect that the County Commissioners, who are the CEOs of this facility on behalf of our CMC residents, will devote the same diligent care to reexamine what CAN be done to keep it as
a county-run example for the rest of the state, rather than relieving themselves of the responsibility that was entrusted to them.
